AMD announces new 7nm Ryzen 4000 series notebook CPUs

AMD announced new processors at CES 2022 for the notebook form cistron, showcasing the performance of the new Ryzen 7 4800U, rocking viii Zen 2 cores (with 16 threads), a base and boost clock speed of 1.8GHz upward to 4.2GHz, and 8 Radeon Vega cores for graphics processing.

This is all based on the newer 7nm manufacturing procedure with a TDP of just 15W. AMD also managed to ameliorate bombardment life past offering up to 2x the functioning per watt. We're excited to get our hands on laptops with these new Ryzen processors to see just how they compare against what we got with the Surface.

If you need a little more power than what the 4800U offers, AMD has the new Ryzen 7 4800H announced with viii cores, sixteen threads, two.9GHz clock speed (with a heave of 4.2GHz), and a TDP of 45W. What's interesting is AMD says this processor hands outperforms Intel'due south Cadre i7 9700K desktop CPU. That's pretty wild and nosotros're stoked to go one in for testing.

Commencement laptops with these new Ryzen mobile processors will launch in Q1 of 2022.
